The promulgation of The Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 (henceforth referred to as The Act) has brought forth several key yet, desired interventions in the Indian workplaces.

The Act covers all organisations and workplaces including but not limited to government, public, private, non-government, educational and domestic workplaces, hospitals, stadia or any location visited by the employees.

The Act mandates certain key legal requirements, activities, procedures and processes that need to be put in place for all organisations having 10 or more employees in order to provide safe working environment the failure of which in consecutive manner could even result in cancellation of business registrations.

Sensing the need of the Industry, NASSCOM under the aegis of the D & I initiative, is organizing a one day workshop to help organizations understand their roles and responsibilities with the advent of the new statute. It will help employers audit their practices and ensure compliance.

  • What happens if the case goes into the court of law
  • Methodologies of Judicial review of the systems and ICC by the courts of law
  • Guidelines on Internal Policy Changes & Annual Return Filing
  • Global Jurisdiction and alignment with global best practices, etc.

The workshop will be followed by a Panel discussion with various stakeholders and informed commentators from IT Industry who will discuss & debate on the perceptions and realities of workplace harassment, encompassing stalking & sexual harassment, online harassment, bullying and other forms of abuse, followed by an interactive session with participants in a "question-and-answer" session.
